Fall Corn Maze

Author: Miles FeldsparDay 131: A Monumental Moment

Twists and turns around every corner! The challenge of a dig site is a fairly straightforward compared to the curving corridors of a Wisconsin corn maze. The Vesperman Farms Corn Maze near Lancaster is Southwest Wisconsin’s most challenging maze. Created by world famous designer, Adrian Fisher, it’s more than 5 acres of fall fun. Navigating this labyrinth was perhaps my biggest achievement in Wisconsin. Armed with compass, sexton, and scone, it only took an hour!

No fall day on the farm is complete without a bit of pumpkin picking. So to complete the experience, my excavation crew and I took a festive hayride to the patch where we hand-selected our pumpkins. On the itinerary for tonight: Pumpkin carving. Our brushes, picks, trowels, and surveying equipment will surely be most useful in the process!

Once again, we have added to our growing mountain of proof that Wisconsin is indeed the origin of fun.

Signing Off,
Miles
